Interview conducted by: Virgil Boggs
Xenos, how are you today?
Pretty good I'd say, how about you? I appreciate the opportunity
Cannot complain at all. Absolutely, glad to have you on the platform. So tell us where are you from?
Spa City/ Hot Springs Arkansas USA.
When did you start making music - and what or who were your early influences?
I honestly started taking music more seriously last 5 years I'd say. I used to just freestyle a bunch & write. Shortly after we closing out over 20 million views total, in a year, on a separate channel -we started pushin the music even more. Currently we've been performing in many places in the NWA & Central Arkansas Area. (Little Rock, Hot Springs, Fayetteville, Conway, Fort Smith, etc.) I also come from a family of musicians lowkey. I grew up listening to my Pops play nearly any classic rock song you can think of on guitar nearly every day & my Momma actually had her own rock band goin years back. Prior to them I grew up freestyling with my Uncles over classic instrumentals covered by Snoop Dogg, Tech N9ne, Twista, an more. I swear there's nothin funner than a good freestyle y'know?
What skills do you think artists need to be successful?
Drive. Never stop. Persistence & consistency for sure. Rain, snow or sleet you gotta stay on your feet.
How do you stay up to date with the latest music trends?
I get tagged in alot posts on social media & always have fans sending me TikTok's to check out.
When performing, what techniques do you use to engage the audience?
Breathing honestly. When on stage you never want to run out of air or get tired too early during / in the show.
What would you say is the most rewarding part of being an artist?
The experience plus The influence you can have on the community & those around you. no doubt about it . Especially the younger generations I've noticed. You have no idea how many youngins have asked me for my autograph already.
How did you spend your lockdown/pandemic time? What did you accomplish before the entertainment world began to open up again?
The way I spent my pandemic time was definitely not inside by much by any means. My Dad & I spent it dressing up as a plague doctor & scaring the living hell out of all the sinners/folks & tourists in our home town. I regret nothing from the experience nearly everyone enjoys it haha.
Bein verified is pretty cool to.
What makes you different from other artists?
Vocabulary & God built me different.. Haha , But ultimately family and will I wanna say. Foundation is key.
Last question, when not making music, where can we find you?
Spotify, Itunes, YouTube, all platforms really. The YouTube channel Plague Dr.J , Instagram & others (down below)
